The Planungsverband Ballungsraum Frankfurt/Rhein-Main is a corporation under public law. In central areas of action, it brings together the interests of its 75 member municipalities and coordinates them with relation to regional planning matters. Its two main tasks are to create Germany's first regional land use plan and a landscape plan. Its highest decision-making body is the chamber of the association, making this planning association with its around 140 employees the only "constituted" political Institution in the Rhine-Main region.
